According to Vaxtang Mirumyan, the Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee under Government of the Republic of Armenia, the approach to exempt self-employed people from taxes derives from the activity program of the RA Government. Almost 1570 self-employed people which have annual turnover of up to 9 million AMD and do not have employees will be exempted from taxes and the privilege amount will be nearly 400 million AMD. This refers to 23 types of activities: clothing production, reparation, preparation of wooden items, language training courses, provision of hotel services by means of tourism houses, etc.
It is also offered by the package to apply tax amnesty towards private entrepreneurs who have payment obligations of minimum amounts of income tax and mandatory social security payments before December 31, 2012, exempting them from payments of those amounts. In this case nearly 4300 private entrepreneurs will be exempted from tax burden.
