The executive body has approved the RA draft law “On making amendments and supplements to the RA law “On Customs Regulation”, the elaboration of which is due to the necessity to simplify the import and export of goods in the process of realization of small and medium entrepreneurial activities. The Minister of Economics Artsvik Minasyan noted that the issue was presented in March during the small and medium entrepreneurship development session and works were carried out in accordance with the recommendation of the RA Prime Minister in which all the interested departments participated, including the staff of the RA Government, State Revenue Committee, EBRD’s Business Support Office, Member of Parliament Edmon Maruqyan, who had presented such a draft, agreed to the Cabinet proposal. The supplement proposed by the draft aims at the simplification and facilitation of customs formalities process, as well as the reduction of the time and expenses required for it. As a result, it is expected to simplify the process of transportation of goods with low cost through the customs border, to exempt the economic entities from the obligation to pay customs fees in the given case. In particular, it is offered by the amendment to exempt the goods not exceeding the amount equal to 200 Euros of total customs value imported and/or exported from one transporter to one receiver with one transportation document from paying customs duties and customs fees. The amendment offered by the Draft also gives the economic entities an opportunity to implement self-declaration irrespective of the cost of imported and exported goods.
