In June 2025, the National Assembly of Armenia adopted the “Law on Crypto-Assets” in its second reading. This is the first comprehensive legal act aimed at establishing the main rules and requirements for activities in the field of crypto-assets.
The law defines the types of crypto-assets, their legal definitions and characteristics, the procedures for their issuance, circulation, and custody, as well as the licensing and supervision requirements for entities providing crypto-asset-related services.
The law also designates the state authority responsible for regulation and supervision in this sector.
The law will come into force on January 1, 2026, giving market participants time to adapt to the new requirements and obtain the necessary licenses.
